3/22/08 - Electronics Bench Technician

In an effort to meet the demands of an ever increasing customer base, Aero Instruments and Avionics, Inc. (website: http://www.aeroinst.com) is currently looking for an Electronics Bench Technician to join our team in North Tonawanda, New York.  In this position you would be responsible for the troubleshooting, testing, and the repair of avionic equipment and instrumentation.  Electronic diagnostic skills, a strong mechanical aptitude, and a minimum of a 2 year electronics degree is required.  Self-motivation and high performance will be expected in this position, as well as the ability to perform within a highly detail-oriented environment.

2/10/08 - Power Plant Operator/Technician

Job Description: Inspect, adjust and repair power plant equipment/machinery to assure safe, legal, continuous and efficient operation. Communicate effectively and accurately by verbal and written methods. Check Boiler water chemistry and take actions to maintain water in prescribed parameters.

Lubricate machinery as directed or as necessary. Perform required housekeeping tasks as directed. Maintain journals, logs and various reports. Must be willing to work overtime and remain on shift until properly relieved. Rotating shift work is required. Should be familiar with electric/electronic circuits and troubleshooting techniques. Should be willing to attend training seminars or classes off site including attending BOCES classes or pursuing a college degree.

Candidate should have a strong background in power plant or boiler plant operations. Candidate should also have good electrical and/or electronics skills including troubleshooting electrical/electronic circuits. Military experience is preferred. Candidate must be able to perform well in high pressure situations and must be willing to work extended shifts if required.

03/06/07 - Technical Associate – Radio Frequency Identification

You will support Praxair's development of Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) applications for a variety of business needs, participating in development activities in both laboratory and plant environments; assist in the development and testing of new products in RFID and related wireless measurement technology; set up test equipment, design experiments and execute tests;  construct test fixtures; troubleshoot circuits and assemblies; service electronic circuits, and program some logic controllers (PLC); collect, organize, analyze, and document experimental test data; commission equipment at Praxair laboratory and production locations. This position requires some domestic and overseas travel.

To qualify, you must be a knowledgeable and creative individual, capable of solving complex, unconventional problems. You must have a minimum of a Technical Associates Degree in electrical or computer technology, 5+ years of experience in laboratory and/or field development work, an excellent safety record and a high proficiency in operating test equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and serial communication devices). Experience in electrical and mechanical CAD design and 3D solid modeling, RFID, PLC and/or computer programming are highly desirable. You must show strong initiative, work well in a team environment, and possess excellent communication skills.

01/18/07 - Inside Sales Engineer Career Opportunity - Rochester

Grey Allen, Inc. is conducting a search for an Inside Sales Engineer on behalf of a manufacturer in the Rochester, NY area. Responsibilities include responding to telephone inquiries, presenting product options to meet prospective customers’ needs, reviewing blueprints, preparing sketches and quotes, providing technical service and building long-term customer relationships. 

This is a relatively small, 40+ year old company that is financially strong and experiences very low employee turnover. Compensation includes a strong base salary, bonus, fully paid health insurance and a 401k retirement savings plan.

Qualification requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or related technical discipline, 5+ years of experience in a sales related role, electrical and mechanical aptitude, solid computer skills including CAD or a related program and excellent communication skills. Experience in motors, process control or instrumentation highly desired.
