Sales Manager - Process Control Instrumentation

GRS is a national recruiting firm focused in the process control industries and associated markets. Our firm has been retained by a $100MM instrumentation manufacturer to permanently staff a sales & marketing management position with worldwide responsibility.

What’s required?

  • At least 7 years of experience leading a national or global sales team in process industries / ISA target markets

  • Previous management responsibilities with an industrial manufacturer 

  • Highly skilled at strategic planning and attention to detail

  • A college degree plus MBA is highly preferred

  • A minimum of $30MM in managed sales volume

  • MUST be living in or willing to relocate to Western New York State

Calibration Lab Management & Product Development

Electronic Technologist with experience managing an instrument calibration lab in an R&D environment. Expertise in repair and calibration, product development, problem resolution, customer service, quality systems, safety, and training.

Managed calibration system for 3000 measurement and test instruments, designed new laboratory, set up calibration software to automate calibration process, set up and maintained computerized asset management database, implemented barcoding system and designed calibration labels for tracking equipment.

Wrote calibration procedures for new equipment and trained technicians in repair and calibration. Worked with research scientists to solve unique measurement problems. Evaluated new instruments and participated on design teams for new products.

Candidate must possess a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in mechanical, electrical or electronic technology; or an associate’s degree from an accredited junior college or technical institute in mechanical, electrical technology and two years of full-time qualifying experience; or graduation from high school, with course work in mechanical, electrical or electronic technology and four years of qualifying full-time experience; or six years of full time experience in the maintenance, repair or installation of electronic or industrial equipment and systems.  Salary $40,966 - $47,522 with excellent benefits. Essential Job Requirements
1. Perform calibrations on a wide variety of instruments while at the customer’s plant or at the J&M laboratory: process control devices; process calibrators; process transmitters; laboratory equipment; pressure gauges; thermometers, etc.
2. Work without assistance in areas of proven competence
a. Interface with customer’s representatives;
b. Maintain contact with calibration supervisor;
3. Professional Growth
a. Attend company sponsored training sessions;
b. Participate in on-the-job training sessions;
c. Obtain additional training through the use of professional organizations, institutions of higher learning, home study programs, etc;
4. Answer phones when necessary.
a. Good verbal and written communication skills are necessary;
b. Converse with clients;
c. Converse with vendors;
5. Maintain J & M laboratory & safety equipment
6. Minimum Education Required
a. Associates Degree or equivalent;
7. Experience Desired
a. Five or more years experience in the field of calibration and/or instrument service is required. A combination of education and job experience may be considered;
b. ISA CCST certification is beneficial but not required;
c. PMEL training is beneficial but not required;
d. Working knowledge of process control loop instrumentation is advantageous;
8. Computer skills required
a. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 2000: Excel, Word, Access;
b. Ability to proficiently retrieve technical data from internet sources;
c. Advanced computer skills are a plus.
