Consortium "On behalf of the New York State Urban Development Corporation doing business as the Empire State Development Corporation (ESDC), I am please to inform you that at the recommendation of Charles A. Gargano, ESDC’s Chairman, the ESDC Directors have approved $175,000 in assistance for the ISA Consortium Training Project." The Consortium consists of nine ISA – Niagara Frontier Section member companies; Allied Circuits, Inc., Allvac, Candlelight Cabinetry, Niacet Corporation, Niagara Fiberboard, Inc., North American Hoganas, Smurfit-Stone Container Corporation, Stollberg, Inc. and United Biochemicals. "Global competition has forced manufacturers to streamline operational costs and it’s unfortunate that that streamlining has included training budgets. Yet in order to stay competitive, manufacturers must continue to develop their staffs in advanced manufacturing skills i.e. skills to operate, troubleshoot and maintain the high-tech automated equipment found in today’s industrial environments." says Fred Braun a member of the ISA-Niagara Frontier Section’s Workforce Development team. "This Training Grant had given the Niagara Frontier Section ISA members an additional benefit to their membership." Hands-on technical training in courses like Electrical Control Systems and Programmable Logic Controls (PLC) and courses in Lean Manufacturing and Root Cause Analysis, and others will help in the upgrading of skills of the identified 122 employees from the nine different companies. Our Training Partners:
In addition to excellent ISA training courses, there are many other topics such as Electrical Control Systems, PLC, Basic Electricity, Lean Manufacturing, Leadership and Communication Skill Development, Root Cause Analysis, Ten Step Universal Troubleshooting Process, and so many others.
