The ISA Niagara Frontier Section is pleased to announce this FREE membership event. The Niagara Power Vista is giving us private access to the renovated facility. ISA will provide snacks and soda/water during the event.
The Niagara Power has recently completed major renovations to become the new must-see attraction in the Niagara region. It’s an exciting, interactive adventure from the New York Power Authority designed for inquisitive minds of all ages.
Please arrive as close as possible to your scheduled time. When you arrive, a NYPA Tour Guide will provide safety instruction and a summary of the Niagara Power Vista exhibit space to include use of the Power Player badge. This RFID badge is yours to keep.
We will then be directed to the exhibit floors, where NYPA staff will be stationed at various exhibits to assist you through the exhibit space where you’ll experience, in part:
- 3D animation that gets you up close and personal without having to wear a hard hat. Giant screens let you experience the majesty and power of Niagara Falls, which plays an integral role in making power.
- A state-of-the-art 4-D theatre to experience what goes into making electricity when you flip the switch. You’ll be in for a wild ride on transmission lines as electricity all over New York.
- Think you have the right stuff to run an electric plant? Our simulated challenge gives you the chance to not only operate a plant but control the state’s transmission network. Talk about power!
- And if that doesn’t make your hair stand on end, the Van de Graaff generator will. You’ll be charged up as you experience the effect of high volts without the jolts.
Don’t forget to take home your Power Player RFID card – similar to ones used at theme parks and rock concerts. Your saved photos and results from the challenges can be pulled up later on your smart phone or home computer. Who has the power? You do!
